I really shouldn't be asking for recommendations on books  since yesterday I finished 2 books I had almost done, I have several of my own waiting to be read, the day before yesterday I brought another one, my cousin lent me in xmas 2 big books, my friend lent me another 3 (and I have a few more than I want her to lend me) + all the recommendations I got when I asked about fantasy books xD (and I have at least 3 that I want to buy in play.com xD) But here I am...

Now I wonder if you could recommend me lgbt books. I looked around (a.k.a. googled) & this seems to be a good place to start. From the first list I read 3 (The City and the Pillar by Gore Vidal, Confessions of a Mask by Yukio Mishima & A Single Man by Christopher Isherwood) but any personal recommendation would be appreciated. (And I know this won't have the response that the fantasy books had, if it has any at all xD, since it's something less popular)

Mysterious Skin aside (that is one of the books I want to buy soon) from the books you already read, which one you liked the most?

& lately I'm reading fantasy so I'm more than happy to mix it with lgbt :D

Mysterious Skin is so wonderful ♥ I really enjoyed Freaks and Revelations because I really loved the characters, but I think one of my favourites was Vintage: A Ghost Story :) It's different from the rest.

From the first list you must absolutely read:

Maurice by E. M. Forster
Kiss of the Spider Woman by Manuel Puig
The Memoirs of Hadrian by Marguerite Yourcenar
The Man Who Fell in Love with the Moon by Tom Spanbauer

And from the second one I'd recommend:

Mysterious Skin by Scott Heim
Forbidden Colors by Yukio Mishima
Dream Boy by Jim Grimsley

Aaaand books that aren't listed there but are definitely among my fave in this genre:

At Swim, Two Boys by Jamie O'Neill
The Carnivorous Lamb by Agustin Gomez-Arcos
The World of Normal Boys by K. M. Soehnlein

I'll stop here for now, but when you're done with these books feel free to ask for even more recs ;)

there are so many I read :( most of them can be found anywhere you googling gay book I suppose. so maybe I can suggest you two I read recently that are more difficult to find? first one is by italian Giuseppe Patroni Griffi and it's called "La morte della bellezza" (meaning "the death of beauty", and set in Naples); I don't really know if it's been translated but i really hope so because it's so wonderful <3
and the other one is french, by Eric Jourdan: "Les Mauvais Anges" (this I know has been published also in english language), it's quietly erotic and sooooo good!

I'd like to read some other good lgbt books so if you have anything in particular to suggest please go for it :)
